Foodscape
Entwicklung des Serious Game Foodscape.ch
The research project "Foodscape" comprises the implementation of a serious game on the Swiss nutrition system as a teaching unit.
In the game, pupils train their ability to make more sustainable decisions about their nutrition. The various scientific findings on the Swiss nutrition system are translated into a game system and prepared for a young audience.
The players are the rulers of Switzerland and decide which wishes and suggestions of their subjects are put into practice. Their decisions on Foodscape learning objectives influence the four resources "Yield Switzerland", "Available Land", "Satisfaction" and "Environment". The goal of the game is to govern as long as possible and to keep the resources in balance. If a resource is used up, the players have lost. And beware: if the decisions of the players lead to an unhealthy diet, the doctor intervenes.
In addition, a multiplayer game is planned in which the players can vote in class. The results of these votes will then be valid for all players.
The game will be available online from March 2020 and will be used in various Swiss grammar schools, vocational schools and universities of applied sciences. As part of this project, pilot projects will be held at various locations of the cooperation partner "Strickhof".
